En este número de la Revista científica y técnica se exponen estrategias para dotar duraderamente a los países de competencias en materia de planificación y respuesta para situaciones de emergencia, con empleo de tecnologías del futuro para mejorar la resiliencia ante los desastres, promover el bienestar de los animales y proteger al personal que interviene en las acciones de respuesta. Esta obra incluye asimismo estudios monográficos de pasados episodios de desastre, sus efectos en las poblaciones animales y la respuesta de los Servicios veterinarios al suceso, ejemplos de los que se extraen enseñanzas útiles para mejorar en el futuro la capacidad de preparación y respuesta veterinarias.
