Established in 2012, the OIE Rabies Vaccine Bank facilitates the purchase and delivery of high-quality dog rabies vaccines to OIE Members under negotiated conditions. 

In 2021, the OIE launched a call for tender to renew the suppliers of its Rabies Vaccine Bank. 

After a transparent and competitive procurement process, the following manufacturers and dog vaccines have been selected to supply the Vaccine Bank: 

• MSD Intervet (Netherlands):
  • inactivated parenteral (injectable) rabies vaccines NOBIVAC in 1 and 10 dose vials 
• Zoetis (USA):
  • inactivated parenteral (injectable) rabies vaccines Defensor 3 in 1 and 10 dose vials 

The OIE has signed contracts with these two companies for an initial duration of 4 years, from 2022 to 2025. 

Thanks to this new phase of the OIE Rabies Vaccine Bank, the OIE will continue to support its Members in reaching the international objective of zero human deaths from dog-mediated rabies by 2030.
